A Taste of Sicily
March 5, 2010   6:30 pm

In a “Taste of Sicily”, we travel to
Palermo where you will learn how to
make some favorite dishes of my
adopted city.  For our first course, we
    will make pasta with cauliflower,
flavored with saffron, raisins and pine
nuts, followed by pork rolls stuffed
    and grilled which will be
accompanied by a simple salad of
fresh fennel and oranges.  We'll also
make a large batch of Caponata to
enjoy as an appetizer and side dish.
We will end the meal with cream puffs
    filled with homemade chocolate
    gelato.

Caponata
(Sweet and Sour Eggplant stew)

Pasta con Broccoli Arriminati
(Bucatini pasta with cauliflower, raisins, pine nuts and
saffron all tossed together and topped with toasted
breadcrumbs)

Spiedini di Maiale
(Stuffed Pork bundles skewered and grilled)
