A Taste of Sicily
July 31, 6:30 pm

In a “Taste of Sicily”, we travel to
Palermo where you will learn how to
make some of my favorite dishes from
my adopted city.  We will make Palermo’s
famous pasta shape anelletti, baked with
a meat sauce, peas and béchamel
sauce.  We will grill stuffed pork rolls
    accompanied by caponata and a
    summer salad from Palermo. To
complete our “taste”, we will make
another summer dessert found only in
Palermo: gelo di melone.  It sounds like
"gelatin of melon" but it has the
consistency of pudding, made with fresh
watermelon juice and a hint of cinnamon
that is served cold, topped with
    pistachios and bits of chocolate.
